Desire

Bright faces lit by coloured light,
people laughing, dancing, drinking;
soft music drifting through the night,
they´ll celebrate till the moon is sinking.

One shimmers, glitters, like a star,
her eyes shine with unearthly fire;
more than one look follows with awe,
her body enflaming wild desire.

Her hair plays softly with her neck,
red ruby lips do slightly part,
her breasts embraced by velvet dress,
move teasing with her beating heart.

The arms, in dance spread out like eagle wings,
they move with a seductive grace,
her hip adored with chain of golden rings,
it´s circle invites every gaze.

Her fragrance floating in the air,
caught by a midsummers gust,
the glowing ember of her hair,
enraging dark, forbidden lust.

A shadow watches from afar,
he patiently bides his time,
and unnheard whispers to this star,
"Before the morning You´ll be mine !"

Hi lokisskald,

Wow, what verbosity ! Reminds me a bit of Rudyard Kipling´s poems as well as "gypsies, tramps and thieves".

Enjoyed reading this.

Have a nice day.

Thanks for the praise

Hi Klara,

beeing compared with a well respected author is high praise indeed (deep bow).

... well at least I think it is ...

Even though I have heard of Kipling, I have to admit that till now I have never come around to read him. But I will give it a try!

So thanks a lot, till next and have a nice day too.
