The Shadow-flower

He ran over the snowy fields.
Looked left and right.
He saw his breath in the cold air.
His shoes left footprints behind.

In front there was a thick fog-bank
Left and right the same
Behind they came with their red eyes
Followed like shadows through the vale

Hands tried to catch his feet
Making him stumble
They want him for their lord
The dark and cruel one in the night

He didn’t know where to go
They would catch him at last.
Remembering his old friend
He closed his eyes and fell

(“Don’t look back” he ever said to me
“whatever you hear”
“They will tell you a lot my friend”
“You have to decide”
I heard a lot indeed
But the answer is too difficult for me
“Lay back and think my lad”
“Do not hurry so much”
“Your life is short I know,
but try to do the best”
“and the best is sometimes not the first”
I can still see his eyes watching me carefully
While saying these words.
And I watched the floor
I never did the best
I wanted of course
But where am I now?
Old and forgotten
In a treacherous hidden land)

There the hunters came
Red glowing eyes in the night
The sky is full of burning flames
And the moon, behind a cloud he hide

On the high hills there behind
With walls and gates of black
The dreadful castle stand
Honours his guests the death

There the enemy of all life lives
Eyes of cold, heart of stone
The death is his friend
You can hear the lost souls moan

The hunters caught his feet
They caught him for their lord
The dark and cruel one in the night
Now laughs and makes ready for the fight.

Hallo Aditu,

Werde mir deinen Namen merken! :)

Liebe Grüße
Julia
