lost to be found

see, the mathematician on a wild horse
he is trying to find the unicorn
looking for magic in a world drenched in wrongs
an impossible quest for the one who NEVER tried

why do i feel like i am break dancing on shattered glass?
look at my scared wrist and you will see
while time goes by my watch runs backwards
and this is how i feel:

nobody will ever play me right
but has anybody ever tried?
whenever the music stops i stumble
i stumble whenever the music stops

trespassing into ancient woods,
then the sorcerers time stands still
utopia shines through the leaves
and then the unicorn will wave at me

i know, the air will be warm
and it will smell like spring and sweat
the unicorn will never loose its horn
and it will never die again

nobody will ever play me right
but has anybody ever tried?
whenever the music stops i stumble
i stumble whenever the music stops

but every day they walk right through me
as if i was a specter, a halo, some shine
with no substance to detain
since their eyes can’t discern grey from green

and maybe my mathematician is too real
and nobody can see him, too
in this world where no true things
ever seem to exist….

nobody will ever play me right
but has anybody ever tried?
whenever the music stops i stumble
i stumble whenever the music stops

what if your only shelter
can’t be reached through this fog?
then i will say, i will deal with it tomorrow
after all tomorrow is another day

and when i find that unicorn
HE will never be hungry again
