In the desert

In the desert

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
as we went through the sand
in a african land
with a camel at the rope
and the rope in the hand
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
as we slept outside
in a pleasent warm night
twinkle stars at the sky
and the sky blue and wide
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

and the wind was our music
was a music calm and clear
and the silence was a silence you can hear
our stage - it was a dune
our spotlight a full moon
full and fat and at the same time far and near

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
as we struggled with the ants
and a billion grains of sand
both all over in the face
in our food and our pants
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
as we sang that song
'round a fire on the ground
with a harp and a drum
and the sun longtime gone
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

and the wind was our music
was a music calm and clear
and the silence was silence you can hear
our stage - it was a dune
our spotlight a full moon
full and fat and at the same time far and near

Hallo Knychen

In the desert

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
[red]how[/red] we went through the sand
in a[red]n[/red] african land
with a camel [red]on a[/red] rope
and the rope in the hand
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
[red]when[/red] we slept outside
in a pleasent warm night
twinkle stars [red]in[/red] the sky
and the sky blue and wide
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

and the wind was our music
was a music calm and clear
and the silence was a silence you can hear
our stage - it was a dune
our spotlight a full moon
full and fat and at the same time far and near

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
[red]how[/red] we struggled with the ants
and a billion grains of sand
both all over [strike]in[/strike] the face
[red]on[/red] our food and [red]in[/red] our pants
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

you remember
YOU REMEMBER
[red]when[/red] we sang that song
'round a fire on the ground
with a harp and a drum
and the sun longtime gone
in the desert
IN THE DESERT

and the wind was our music
was a music calm and clear
and the silence was silence you can hear
our stage - it was a dune
our spotlight a full moon
full and fat and at the same time far and near
Die Zeile
and the sun longtime gone
fände ich besser "and the sun was longtime gone " die Satzstellung ist wahrscheinlich noch vertretbar. Ich verstehe, dass "and the sun was gone a long time" vom Reim her nicht funktioniert.

"As I was saying before this can not be the case." oder "As we came down the stairs he quickly ran out the door."

angelehnt ist das ganze an "in the ghetto" oder "I'm on fire".
